GUIDELINES & CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPANTS
COMMON AIMS OF JA-YE EUROPE
To use hands-on experiences to help young people understand the economics of life. In
partnership with business and educators, JA-YE brings the real world to students and
opens their minds to their potential
THE TRADE FAIR
The JA-YE Europe Trade fair gives students an opportunity to experience selling their products
and services to the public. The event not only boosts their business results, but also reinforces
the relationships between the members. The event also serves to raise the public’s awareness of
these students’ creativity and enthusiasm for enterprise
PERMITTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM AGE OF PARTICIPANTS
Achievers representing their Companies at the Trade Fair must be at least 15 years old and no
more than 21 years old. Younger or older students will be automatically asked to withdraw from
the competition.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPATING COMPANIES PER MEMBER AND
PARTICIPANTS PER INDIVIDUAL COMPANY

Maximum five (5) achievers per student company. The achievers must be current students of a secondary -school level JA-YE program, preferably The Company Program.

Maximum 1 adviser per company.

Maximum 1 Link Teacher per company.

Maximum 1 JA/YE staff member per JA-YE Europe member.

2 companies per JA-YE Europe member. The vacant places/stands will be redistributed as of the due date for commitment to participate and will be offered to other JA-YE Europe member
OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF JA-YE EUROPEAN TRADE FAIR
The official language to be used at the Trade Fair is English.

JUDGING CRITERIA AND AWARDS
Judges visit all stands in teams or individually (each jury decides about the process).
The general judging criteria are presented below. Each jury will decide the details of evaluation process.
Best Overall Company
Will be awarded to the Company that achieved the highest composite ranking from the
categories below:
• Best Stand
• Most Innovative Product
• Best Sales/Marketing Techniques
• Best International Trading Profile (if such a category is judged at the event)
Best Stand
• General layout and attractiveness of stand
• Sales and product literature
• Recognition of sponsors
• Effectiveness in presenting product
• Corporate image profile and promotion
Most Innovative Product
• Design
• Quality of finish
• Effectiveness of purpose
• Inventiveness
• Packaging
• Environmental impact
Best Sales/Marketing Techniques
• Appearance of the Sales
• Team on the stand
• Market research and marketability
• Creative promotions/advertising
• Sales techniques and salesmanship relevant to Trade Fair customers
• Packaging
• Sales Information
Additional awards such as Best International Trading Profile, Special Individual Awards, and Signature Awards can be presented as well. JA-YE Europe and the host JA organisation are currently searching for partners for the awards and will publish additional information as soon as a partnership agreement has been concluded.
